This is a nice post. But I would like to point out a common misconception that seems present. That is the idea that Hinduism is exclusively monistic. Swami Prabhavananda was an Advaitin, and thus his translation and commentary of the Gita sought to establish that view. But there are numerous schools (the majority actually) of Vedanta with a view more similar to Christianity in many ways (one God, and the ultimate goal is a relationship with that God.) We just published an article about this on our site, please take a look and comment if you are inclined.

I continually ask God to reveal himself to me. Our vision is always affected by the color of the glass. As long as we are in a body, there are veils between us and God that need to be removed, and it is a lifelong process. Be careful what you read into the apocalyptic books of the Bible, as they were addressing specific circumstances in history.

God bless.

This is a very fundamental question and I am going to answer it at length in a future post. It will appear after my series about evolution and evangelical Christianity.

God bless.

It is interesting that you still remain a Christian. I truly find it fascinating that you believe and affirm the Apostle's Creed.

You are no doubt well-meaning, ISC, but nevertheless a deceiver and deceived. God is who He knows Himself to be, not who you, in your vain imaginings, conceive Him to be--creating Him in your own image. How foolish. Admit that you believe in no god at all, for if He is whatever you deem Him to be, He is no god at all.

Please don't misunderstand. Peace on earth is an admirable goal. Your peace you will find to be a nightmare, however, and your man of peace to be the most evil dictator the world has ever known. But you will "succeed." You will get what you think you want. May you enjoy it for the little time it lasts.

Or better for you . . . ask God who He knows Himself to be. If you seek Him, He will reveal Himself to you. All find what they truly seek.

May God, the true God, bless you by opening your eyes to the truth.

I like your take on interspirituality. Christian Mysticism is the journey inward to God the Father where the source of all religions meet. You are pointing the way to be a deeply spiritual Christian. Your unity with everything is constructive, life giving and harmonious.

I totally agree with your perspective that in their highest manifestations, religions teach us to die to self. Christ told us about a kernal of wheat falling to the ground and his own death and resurrection gave us a clear example of what each person must do. What many people don't realize that before one can be born again, one must die. Thanks for a great web log.

I feel a great kinship with much that you have said here. Thanks for putting together this web site as it contains material that I believe can help rekindle the passion of our faith for many Christians. I believe mysticism is a vital and valid stream of Christianity that offers hope for the future of the faith.

Love to have you visit my recently revamped personal blog at:
