But I would like to point out a common misconception that seems present. That is the idea that Hinduism is exclusively monistic. Swami Prabhavananda was an Advaitin, and thus his translation and commentary of the Gita sought to establish that view. But there are numerous schools (the majority actually) of Vedanta with a view more similar to Christianity in many ways (one God, and the ultimate goal is a relationship with that God.) Our vision is always affected by the color of the glass. As long as we are in a body, there are veils between us and God that need to be removed, and it is a lifelong process.
